Charleston Meadows is where Eichler proves the model works in volume. Anshen & Allen were designing, the plans were repeating, and the subdivision was large enough that the streetscape itself became the product — one low roofline after another, no house shouting over its neighbor.
That consistency is still the tract's asset. Because the houses were built close together in time and from a small set of plans, the block reads as a single composition. It also means a badly-executed remodel is conspicuous here in a way it would not be in a mixed neighborhood, which tends to keep owners honest. The recorded lots run along Carolina Lane.
What was built here
Early-fifties plans: post-and-beam frame left visible, radiant heat in the slab, a near-blank wall to the street and the rear given over to glass. Compact by modern standards — most have been added to. No atrium; that idea is still years away.
What moves the number in Charleston Meadows
- Early-fifties plans, typically three bedrooms and a single bath in original configuration. Most have been expanded.
- No atrium — that idea is still six or seven years away. The indoor-outdoor move happens entirely at the rear.
- Original mahogany paneling. Painting over it is reversible in theory and expensive in practice.
What is it worth?
We price Charleston Meadows the way it was built.
By tract, by architect, by what is still intact. Tell us the address and we will come back with the range and the reasoning behind it — not an automated estimate.
Before they hit the market
Most Charleston Meadows homes we sell never reach a portal.
Owners in these tracts tend to know each other. When one decides to move, we usually hear first. Join the list and you will hear early too — no volume, no drip campaign.
